The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission owns North Platte River – Bixby Public Access Area, which is 24 miles northwest of Douglas, or approximately 13 miles east of Glenrock, on Tank Farm Road. There is one parking area with a modern comfort station, which provides access to over ½-mile of river access for fishing. The river provides quality fishing year-round for catfish. Bixby is open for camping with a 14-day limit. The area also affords excellent waterfowl hunting opportunities. WGFD does not plow the access road and parking area in the winter.
