The Ellis Public Access Area offers parking and fishing access to the Middle Fork of the Powder River by foot traffic only. You can expect to catch Brown, Rainbow, Brook, and Cutthroat trout throughout this blue ribbon fishery. You can reach the location by traveling south on the Hazelton Road for approximately 50 miles from Highway 16. Portions of this road are considered a dry weather road and travel can be limited due to weather and seasonal usage.
