John & Annie Woodhouse Wildlife Habitat Management Area is located 22 miles west of Cheyenne on Valley View Drive. Managed through a Memorandum of Understanding between the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission and the City of Cheyenne through the Board of Public Utilities, the area encompasses 680 acres of winter and summer habitat for mule deer and elk. The WHMA features a 7-acre reservoir and 1.25 miles of North Fork Crow Creek access, providing fishing opportunities for the public, including a handicap fishing pier. The Lake offers quality fishing year-round for Rainbow, and Tiger Trout. The WHMA includes three parking areas and one ADA compliant comfort station. The management objective of the area is to maintain and improve wetland and riparian lands that enhance water quality for the City of Cheyenne’s raw water source and to maximize wildlife habitat consistent with wildlife-oriented public use of the area.
