Giraffe Creek - Segment No. 1

Heading Location: From the confluence of Robinson Creek down to Forest Service boundary.

How to get there: Giraffe Creek is a tributary of Salt Creek in the far western part of the state. Though the instream flow segment is located entirely on national forest land, it is necessary to cross over privately owned lands to reach the segment by road. An instream flow water right doesn't convey public access across private lands to segments, so if you want to fish this stream by vehicle, you'll have to get permission from landowners. Contact the national forest service office in Kemmerer to identify the landowners and their contact information. If you're willing to hike in, you can park along highway 89 at the forest boundary about 16 miles south of Smoot and hike about two miles west to the stream. Take along a good topographic map or GPS unit to guide you to the stream and stay on public land.
