CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has announced a second season of its national TV series, Wyoming's Call of the Wild, to begin filming in the state in 2012. Wyoming's Call of the Wild - Season 2 will premiere in 2013. As in its first season, this revolutionary show will feature kids as they experience hunting and fishing adventures in Wyoming.
Again this season, the WGFD is looking for kids interested in participating in the show. The department is teaming up with Orion Entertainment, the leading producer of outdoors TV, to find kids age 14 and older to feature on each episode. Through the unique personal insights of the kids chosen to appear in the series, viewers will see how they are motivated to become lifelong participants in hunting and fishing and other outdoor activities.
Kids interested in applying to be on the show can attend "casting calls" in Casper and Cheyenne in April to meet with producers and representatives of the WGFD. They can also apply online at callofthewildtv.com. The Casper casting call will be held at the Casper Sportsmans Warehouse store on April 6 from 1:00 to 7:00. The Cheyenne casting call will be at Frontier Mall on April 7 from 1:00 to 7:00.
"Hunters and anglers are our most ardent conservationists," said WGFD Public Information Officer Eric Keszler. "And hunters and anglers provide the vast majority of funding for wildlife management and conservation. But nationally we're seeing a decline in the number of people taking part in these outdoor traditions. Wyoming's Call of the Wild is just one of the ways we're working to get more people off of the couch and into the outdoors."
Season 1 of Wyoming's Call of the Wild is currently airing on the Sportsman Channel. For more information and air times, visit thesportsmanchannel.com, click on "Shows," then click on "Wyoming's Call of the Wild."
