CHEYENNE - The Game and Fish Store has a number of items that are proving popular for that hard-to-buy-for outdoor enthusiast. The store has items for anglers, hunters and in general, anyone interested in wildlife.
“There are gifts for experienced hunters and fishermen as well as those just getting started in outdoor activities,” said Jackie Beck, a specialist who works with the Game and Fish Store. “There are items that are unique to Wyoming, featuring clothing items with the Game and Fish shield and some display the Wyoming Wildlife, Worth the Watching logo.”
One item for the hunter is the Butcher Lite Kit, which includes knives for field-dressing, skinning, filleting/boning, and a bone saw . A new product, the Fish and Bone Knife has been added this year. Other popular items include wild game cookbooks, the Jerky Master and jerky seasonings. The Wyoming GPS Micro SD chip for Garmin GPS Units is still very popular. The chip contains mapping of Wyoming public and private lands, hunt area boundaries, topo lines, roads,trails, and other pertinent information on lands and land status To facilitate pre-season scouting and determine terrain and land status there is the Google Earth card which can be downloaded on personal computers. It shows public and private land. A card providing yearly updates of this info is also available. Also popular is the camo field jackets that feature an embroidered elk on the back of the jacket.
New products include WGFD Official Gear long sleeve shirt, hunting caps, pewter wind chimes, pewter decanter sets with glasses and hickory hiking sticks that become a monopod for cameras or optical equipment.
Game and Fish products are featured on the agency’s web site wgfd.wyo.gov. Shoppers can also purchase gift certificates. Proceeds from the sale of products support hunter and angler access, habitat restoration and protection and other wildlife programs.
