WILDLIFE IN WYOMING

Verified Grizzly Bear Killed Livestock

-Verified three (3) calves as killed or injured by grizzly bears in the Cody Region.
 
-Verified five (5) calves as killed or injured by grizzly bears in the Pinedale Region.
 
Research and Monitoring
 
-Documented grizzly bear family groups for monitoring of distribution and evaluation of abundance.
 
-Retrieved dropped radio collars in order to evaluate circumstances and obtain stored location data.  Collars were naturally shed.
 
 
Bear Management (Captures, Relocations, and Removals)
 
-Captured two (2) male yearling grizzly bears for continued human habituation and food conditioned behavior in the Cody Region.  The sibling males will be placed in a zoo facility.
 
-Captured and removed a subadult male grizzly bear for repeated livestock depredation in the Pinedale Region.
 
Law Enforcement and Related Activities
-Nothing to report.   
 
Outreach and Education
 
-Conducted a bear safety and large carnivore education informational booth at the 8th Annual Native American Education Conference at St. Stephens School, Arapahoe, WY.
