Verified Grizzly Bear Killed Livestock

- Nothing to report.
Research and Monitoring
- Verified several observations of grizzly bears in the southern Wind River Mountains between Pine Creek and the Big Sandy River.
- Initiated efforts to capture grizzly bears for monitoring purposes.  One subadult male grizzly bear captured and fitted with radio transmitter; biological samples taken.
Bear Management (Captures, Relocations, and Removals)
- Nothing to report.
Law Enforcement and Related Activities
- Assisted the USFWS with an investigation of a grizzly bear mortality in the Cody Region.
Outreach and Education
- Presented large carnivore safety information to 18 Hunter Education students and parents in Lander, WY.
- Manned an educational bear booth at the Cody Outdoor Show, focused on Bearwise efforts and proactive grizzly bear conflict prevention/human safety.
- Gave a Living in Large Carnivore Country presentation to residents of Story, WY.
- Presented bear, lion, and wolf safety to 54 Powell, WY Southside Elementary students.
- Participated in a live radio-call in show in Cody, Wyoming to discuss grizzly bear ecology and management and answered listener’s questions relevant to the topic.
