Sage Grouse Group to Meet in Jackson

Jackson - The Upper Snake River Basin Sage Grouse Working Group will hold its next meeting at 1:30pm, Thursday, May 31, at the Wyoming Game and Fish Office in Jackson (420 North Cache Street).
Topics to be discussed at the meeting include:

  1. Review 2018 lek survey results that are available
  2. Status of Spread Creek sage grouse study
  3. Update on sage grouse work to address JH Airport wildlife hazard plan
  4. Update from Tom Christiansen on statewide issues
  5. Update on Wyoming’s response to Department of Interior’s intent to modify sage grouse conservation plans on federal lands
  6. Discussion of proposed projects for funding and selection of a project or projects the Working Group supports for funding in 2018

The group is one of eight regional working groups statewide. Each is composed of citizens representing groups interested in sage grouse conservation. The group develops and initiates conservation plans to benefit sage grouse and, when feasible, other species that use sagebrush habitats.
