Jackson - Students from Wilson Elementary were treated to a fun field day as they got learn about the different fishes of Wyoming and then help stock fish in the pond at Rendezvous Park near Wilson. The fish being stocked were native Snake River cutthroat trout raised at the Auburn Fish Hatchery near te town of Auburn in Star Valley. The fish are stocked there in the days leading up to the big Kids Fishing Day event, which is held at R Park the first Saturday in June each year.
The event for kids up to 13 years of age will take place Saturday, June 2, from 10:30-2:00pm. It will include fun educational activities, a free hotdog lunch and of course fishing in the pond. Fishing gear will be provided and kids get to take it home along with a goodie bag thanks to a generous donation from the Jackson Hole One Fly Foundation.
