Topography and Vegetation: This is a prairie elk herd. Much of the area consists of rolling sagebrush hills broken by rocky hills and ridges. The higher ridges are timbered with ponderosa pine. Elk can be found in any of these habitat types.
General Statement Regarding This Hunt Area: This area does not provide a good public land elk hunt. Most elk are found on private land with only a small amount of public land legally accessible on the southern boundary of the area.
Additional Opportunities: Mule deer, antelope, sharp-tailed grouse, sage grouse. Consult the applicable WGFD regulations for license requirements, season dates and bag/possession limits.
