Topography and Vegetation: Consists mostly of rolling sagebrush/grasslands hills and ridges, intermixed with some deeper draws and canyons. Large expansions of mostly cheatgrass occur throughout the hunt area due to past wildfires.
General Statement regarding this hunt area: The area is general license hunting for the first 10 days of October. There is also a Type 6 doe/fawn license available in October into November, but is restricted to within a ½ mile of irrigated land. In addition, there is a Type 3 white-tailed deer hunt in November. There are deer scattered throughout the hunt area, but most deer area associated with water corridors and private hay fields. Overall, mule deer densities are fairly low on public land, due to the arid dry environment. The area is not known for having many quality mule deer bucks, but on average 2-4 year old bucks are taken.
Additional Hunting Opportunities: Antelope area114 has an overlapping season, but not entirely (need to check regulations). Partridge hunting, both chukars and Hungarian partridge are usually found in the area during good production years.
