Owl Creek/Meeteetse Mule Deer Initiative

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is evaluating hunting opportunity and mule deer management in Hunt Areas 116-120 as part of the Owl Creek/Meeteetse mule deer herd initiative.

We want to hear about your mule deer hunting experience(s) to help us better understand public desires and perceptions about mule deer hunting in hunt areas 116-120. Your observations and opinions are improtant and valuable to the Department and Cody area deer managers.

If you have hunted this area in the last five years, please take a few minutes to answer a short survey and participate in the future of mule deer management in these areas. The survey can be found at:

Owl Creek/Meeteetse Mule Deer Survey

Also, we invite you to participate in a series of collaborative public meetings this fall and winter beginning November 17-18 in Thermopolis and Meeteetse. The meetings are desigend to work collaboratively with interested parties and gather public input that will be used to develop management recommendations for the Owl Creek/Meeteetse mule deer herd.

If you have any questions or prefer a paper copy of the online survey, please contact Tara Hodges at Tara.Hodges@wyo.gov or 307-527-7125.
