Baggs Mule Deer Herd Initiative

A statewide Mule Deer Initiative written by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department was adopted by the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission in July 2007 and updated in July 2015.  The Mule Deer Initiative outlines factors contributing to declining mule deer populations and identifies strategies to, at minimum, sustain current deer numbers.  The purpose of the Baggs Mule Deer Initiative Working Group is to apply and adapt the strategies and objectives of the Mule Deer Initiative to address issues specific to the Baggs herd unit.  WGFD began this process in 2014 to engage the public and utilize their input by hosting a series of collaborative meetings and forming the Baggs Mule Deer Working Group.
