Last winter, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department hosted a series of gatherings that engaged the public in charting a path forward for Yellowstone cutthroat trout restoration in the Cody Region. At each meeting, participants had the opportunity to share their thoughts, listen to other participants, and learn about the current status and conservation challenges associated with cutthroat trout. We learned a lot from each other. The final outcome of this endeavor was a set of specific recommendations put forward by the public for future cutthroat restoration projects in the Absaroka, Beartooth, and Bighorn Mountains.
