Wyoming Wildlife calendar photo contest deadline
Wyoming Wildlife magazine is calling for your best wildlife photographs from the Cowboy State. The publication has opened entries for the second annual Wyoming Wildlife calendar photo contest. Entries will be accepted until June 30. 

To enter the contest, along with rules and more information is available on the photo contest website.

Kaycee open house

Please join us for an open house on Wednesday, June 16 to meet and visit with two new regional employees - Kaycee Game Warden Adam Hansen and Buffalo Wildlife Biologist Zach Turnbull.

The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at the Kaycee Branch Library.

In addition, there will be a short presentation on the ongoing Upper Powder River Mule Deer Study. WYDOT personnel will also provide an update on the upcoming fencing project along Interstate 25 to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions between Kaycee and Buffalo.

Northeast Wyoming Sage Grouse Working Group meeting

The Northeast Wyoming Sage Grouse Local Working Group will hold a meeting Wednesday, June 16, 2021 beginning at 9 a.m. at Peregrine Global Services, 640 N. Hwy. 14-16, Suite J, in Gillette. 

The Northeast Wyoming Local Sage Grouse Working Group is comprised of local citizens representing groups interested in sage grouse conservation. The role of the group is to develop and set in motion a local conservation plan to benefit sage grouse and, whenever feasible, other species that use sagebrush habitats.

Agenda items include updates on the “state of sage-grouse", a discussion of the soft trigger tripped by the Tidwell Fire and discussion of what might be the next soft trigger as well as soliciting bids for new projects.
