AGES: 14-16 (AT THE START OF CAMP)


Youth Camps' top priority is to immerse the campers in exploring potential career opportunities within the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. Game wardens, biologists, and other agency personnel will showcase aspects of their positions, inspiring a desire to work outdoors within our campers. Additionally, participants will enjoy hands-on experiences with animal identification, watersports, scientific research, archery, and much more. Campers must bring the necessary items indicated in the detailed packing list. Unfortunately, we do not provide transportation to and from Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp.

FAMILY CAMPS

An overnight camp experience to build confidence in outdoor skills and enjoy learning together as a family. 

 

  • Exlore nature and learn new recreational outdoor activities together as a family.
  • Families will stay in their own cabins.
  • ​An adult must accompany children.
  • Price includes meals and lodging


THE FEE TO ATTEND ANY FAMILY CAMP IS $150 PER PERSON. 

 

If a family registers more than two members at a time, then the following discounts apply:

  • THREE PARTICIPANTS: 10% DISCOUNT
  • FOUR PARTICIPANTS: 15% DISCOUNT
  • FIVE PARTICIPANTS: 20% DISCOUNT
  • SIX OR MORE PARTICIPANTS: 25% DISCOUNT
All family camp participants must be at least 10 years old at the beginning of the camp.
Registration for all Family Camps is first come, first served; and closes at 5 pm MDT on May 1, 2023. 
Registration may close sooner if capacity is met.

ADVENTURE CAMP

Our Adventure Camps teach families the basics of multiple outdoor activities, including hiking, canoeing, archery, and animal identification. These are introductory camps to give a broad overview of outdoor recreational activities, with the hope that families will spark a passion together! This camp is for ages 10 and up. FISHING CAMP


Campers will learn the basics of two types of fishing (fly fishing and spin casting) through hands-on fishing trips. Campers should arrive with an interest in fishing and limited experience. All participants 14 or older must have a valid fishing license. Visit the Information Packet to learn more.

HUNTER EDUCATION CAMP


Do you have your Hunter Education Certificate? Families interested in hunting Wyoming Wildlife will complete a Hunter Education course during this camp, where they learn the bassics of safe hunting and receive both a Hunter Education and Bowhunter Education certificate. This camp is meant for participants with very minimal hunting experience. This camp is for ages 10 and up. Visit the Information Packet to learn more.

EDUCATOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

This camp is for educators looking to incorporate conservation education within their curriculum. Educators can receive instructor certification and knowledge on incorporating either Project WILD or Hunter Education into their schools. Two University of Wyoming graduate credits (additional cost of $60 per credit paid to UW) or two PTSB credits are available for attending this workshop. ​This camp includes meals and lodging. Transportation to and from is not included.

The fee is $150.00 per person.

PROJECT WILD CERTIFICATION


This camp is for educators looking to incorporate conservation education within their curriculum. Educators can recieve instructor certification and knowledge on incorporating either Project WILD or Hunter Education into their schools. Visit the Project WILD Information Packet to learn more.

HUNTER EDUCATION TRAINING


Educator Camp participants will be trained as hunter education instructors to be able to teach hunter education in their schools. Attendees are strongly encouraged to receive administrative approval to install this curriculum in their school and plan to do so by the following school year. The application to attend Educator Camp's Hunter Education Certification portion closes at 5 pm MDT on May 1, 2023.

HOW TO REGISTER

STEP 1
If you do not already have a Game and Fish account, you will need to create oneStep-by-step instructions on how to do so are available.  If you have an account, log in at wgfd.wyo.gov.

Step 2
Once logged into the WGFD webpage with your username and password, you will see your eleven-digit Sports ID (also known as your “SPID”) directly under your name. You will need this information to register for camp. Each individual has their own unique SPID.

Step 3
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department uses a registration software known as Kalkomey. You must create an account within this platform to start registering. If you are registering multiple people at once, you may link accounts after the first main account is created. Once the main account is created, go to my account, linked accounts and click "link new account" in the upper right hand corner. All linked accounts still require a valid Game and Fish SPID.
