Wyoming Game and Fish and volunteer instructors offer Hunter Education Courses to develop safe, responsible, knowledgeable hunters who are dedicated to keeping sufficient habitats for wild animal populations.
In 2020 two Becoming an Outdoors-Woman programs are scheduled - the traditional B.O.W., and Beyond B.O.W. - Hunting! At traditional B.O.W., learn the basics of canoeing, archery, fly-tying, shooting skills, backpacking, outdoor photography and much more. Beyond B.O.W. - Hunting participants will learn comprehensive skills to begin hunting. Both programs are for women 18 years of age and older, regardless of skill level. Become an Outdoors Woman
We provide educational opportunities and resources to learn more about habitat, wildlife, conservation and natural history.
Wyoming's HMP allows a person who has not yet earned their hunter education certification to apply for a special authorization to hunt while accompanied by a mentor. This special authorization may create opportunities for those potentially interested in hunting to experience a hunt before committing to the hunter education coursework.
