It sounds like you are starting to plan your Wyoming hunt. Glad to hear it.

To maximize opportunity for permission slips for a Hunter Management Area (HMA), only hunters holding a valid license for that species and hunt area for an HMA may apply. So, after the license draws are complete, hunters can apply for permission slips. The final drawing for limited quota licenses occurs at the end of June and leftover licenses go on sale starting in early July. Hunters can begin applying for HMA permission slips on Monday July 11, 2016.

Permission slips are issued in different ways, varying from having limited numbers available on a first come-first served basis or via a random drawing, to some areas with unlimited permission slips.  Hunting access information can be found on the Wyoming Game and Fish Website. The HMA page is unavailable throughout June while it is being updated with the current year’s information, details for each HMA can be checked in early July.

As a reminder, following the ranch rules for HMAs is critical to keeping them open, as is donating to Access Yes each time you buy a license. Each dollar donated provides approximately 3.5 acres of access.
