Public involvement and review is a key part of the hunting season setting process, and there are many ways you can participate. Following the conclusion of fall hunting seasons, local wildlife managers begin analyzing population and harvest data, winter conditions and other factors, including public feedback as they develop hunting season proposals. The public can review the proposed 2017 big game, wild turkey, upland game bird, small game, wild bison, migratory game bird seasons by attending one of the public meetings within your area or reviewing the draft regulations online.

Once you have reviewed the draft regulations, you can provide written comments at one of the local public meetings, online at http://wgfd.wyo.gov or by mail through March 30. Written comments can be sent to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Regulations, 3030 Energy Lane, Casper, WY  82604.  All written comments are reviewed and considered before final season recommendations are presented to the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission on April 20-21 in Casper. You can also attend the April Commission meeting and provide your hunting season proposal comments in person to the Commission.

Remember-you can always contact your local wildlife biologist or game warden and discuss season proposals and other wildlife issue anytime of the year; we’re happy to hear from you.
