WILDLIFE IN WYOMING

Verified Grizzly Bear Killed Livestock

-Verified three (3) calves, one (1) yearling, and one (1) adult cow killed or injured by grizzly bears in the Pinedale Region.
 
Research and Monitoring
 
-Conducted grizzly bear observation flights throughout the Wyoming portion of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
 
-Concluded capture efforts for monitoring purposes in the Blackrock area.  A total of four (4) female and four (4) male grizzly bears were captured.  Seven (7) bears were fitted with radio collars, samples were collected on all bears.
 
Bear Management (Captures, Relocations, and Removals)
 
-Captured and released a non-target sub-adult grizzly bear in the Pinedale Region.  The bear was fitted with an ear tag transmitter.
 
Law Enforcement and Related Activities
-Nothing to report.
 
Outreach and Education
 
-Provided safety information to tourists and visitors recreating in northwest Wyoming and also provided information to individuals watching and photographing roadside bears.
