Q. Is a trapping license needed for coyotes?

A. No trapping licenses is needed for coyotes or for other species legally classified as predators in Wyoming. Trapping licenses are required for all animals legally classified as furbearers regardless if the method of take is by trapping or other weapons. Furbearing animals are mink, muskrat, marten, weasel, badger, bobcat, and beaver.In addition to coyotes, animals classified as predators include red fox, raccoon, skunk, jackrabbit and porcupines and wolf where not designated as a trophy game animal
