CHEYENNE - The opening reception and judging for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s 30th annual Wyoming Conservation Stamp Art Contest will be this Friday, April 12, at Game and Fish headquarters, 5400 Bishop Blvd., in Cheyenne. The reception, hosted by Wyoming Wildlife – The Foundation, will begin at 5 p.m. and will be held in the main lobby of the headquarters building. Winners will be announced at 6 p.m.
This year’s contest subject is the ruffed grouse, with 51 paintings on display from artists in 20 states. Wyoming is well-represented with 25 paintings from artists in 17 Wyoming communities. The winning artist will receive $3,500and have his or her work reproduced on the 2014 Wyoming conservation stamp. Approximately 100,000 conservation stamps are printed each year.
All paintings will remain on display at Game and Fish headquarters through April 30.
