Q. Do I need to have hunter safety to apply for or buy a hunting license?
A. Proof of completion of a hunter safety course is not needed to apply for or buy a hunting license, butmost hunters born after 1965 will need proof of completion of hunter safety while hunting. Wyoming law states: “No person born on or after Jan. 1, 1966, may take any wildlife by use of firearms on land other than that of their own family unless the person possesses and can exhibit a hunter safety certificate.”
