Q. Is a bowhunter education course and hunter safety required for archery hunting?
A. Neither is required to archery hunt in Wyoming. Some archery organizations in Wyoming haveperiodically offered bowhunter courses but they are not a prerequisite for archery hunting. Neither is hunter safety. Wyoming law specifies that hunter safety is required to take wildlife by the use of firearms for any person born on or after Jan. 1, 1966. Since archery equipment is not a firearm, hunters do not need hunter safety if only hunting with archery equipment.
