Q. Is it legal to hunt crows with a .22?
A. You can hunt crows with firearms which includes .22s, other rifles, handguns, shotguns, and also archery equipment. The season opened Nov. 1 and runs through Feb. 28. There is no license required and no bag limit. Keep in mind that a similar species, the raven, is protected. The two species can be distinguished in flight by the square-shaped tail on the crow and the wedge-shaped tail on the raven. Information on crow hunting is found on page 5 of the Late Migratory Bird Regulations.
