Hunting and Fishing Licenses Expire December 31

12/16/2013

CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department would like to remind hunters and anglers that 2013 conservation stamps and most 2013 hunting and fishing licenses expire on Dec. 31.

The lone exception is that 2013 elk licenses will be valid in open areas in January due to the fact that a number of elk seasons extend into January. This year, the Game and Fish will continue to sell 2013 elk licenses through the online system, at all automated agent locations and at all Game and Fish Offices through Jan. 2014 for hunt areas with open seasons. Hunters need to be reminded that a 2014 conservation stamp will be required for all licenses beginning Jan. 1, 2014, including those hunting on a 2013 elk license during the extended seasons.

Hunting seasons for some species, including waterfowl, small game, chukar, and gray partridge, continue into the new year, but to participate, 2014 bird and small game licenses are required. Waterfowl hunters will note that their Federal Migratory Bird and Conservation Stamp (duck stamp) and Harvest Information Program (HIP) permit are valid until June 30.

Persons can still purchase 2013 licenses and stamps through automated license agents and manual license selling agents including Game and Fish offices. Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) decal will also be available until the end of the year online, at automated agents and all Game and Fish offices.

Licenses for 2014 are now available online, at all automated license selling agents, and at all Game and Fish Department offices. License agents are available on the Game and Fish website wgfd.wyo.gov. Hunters and anglers can also call 307-777-4600 for more information.
