Q. Do youth need to complete hunter safety education to hunt cottontails with a bow?
A. The hunter safety law requires that any person born after 1965 must complete hunter safety education to take wildlife by the use of firearms. Because archery equipment is not classified under the firearm designation, hunter safety education is not required.
