CHEYENNE - Proposed changes to the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission’s Regulation Governing Access to Records (Chapter 1) will be discussed at a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Game and Fish Department’s Cheyenne office.
The regulation changes are being proposed to accommodate statute changes passed by the 2012 Wyoming Legislature. The proposals clarify the Game and Fish Department’s “official custodian” of public records, and that all public records requests shall be directed to that individual. To accommodate employee workloads and schedules, the official custodian will also have the authority to designate the time period during which public records may be viewed.
The public-record requests’ fee schedule is proposed to be updated to better reflect current market/state agency fees. Language is being proposed that allows the Game and Fish Commission to waive fees to accommodate special circumstances and that allows Game and Fish staff oversight during a public record examination.
Written comments on the proposals will be accepted through 5 p.m. Feb. 21 by mail to: Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Regulations, 3030 Energy Lane, Casper, WY 82604, or at wgfd.wyo.gov. Copies of the proposed regulations are available at wgfd.wyo.gov and at the above address.
All comments received during the public comment period will be presented to the Game and Fish Commission prior to its March 20-21 meeting in Gillette.
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department supports the Americans with Disabilities Act. Every effort will be made for reasonable accommodations by contacting the corresponding department office.
