CHEYENNE - The Game and Fish Store has a number of items that are proving popular for that hard-to-buy-for outdoor enthusiast. The store has items for anglers, hunters, and anyone interested in wildlife.
“There are gifts for experienced hunters and fishermen as well as those just getting started in outdoor activities,” said Jackie Beck, a specialist who works with the Game and Fish Store. “There are items that are unique to Wyoming, featuring clothing with the Game and Fish shield or the Wyoming’s Wildlife, Worth the Watching logo.”
Still very popular is the Butcher Lite Kit, which includes knives for field-dressing, skinning, filleting/boning, and a bone saw. The knives have the Wyoming Game and Fish Department logo etched on the blades. It also includes a sharpener and a device to spread the rib cage of animals to make the field dressing process easier. The kit comes in a case that will fit easily in day packs. Other items include wild game cookbooks, including a new cookbook for game birds. Another popular item is the Garmin MicroSD card compatible with Garmin GPS units only. The chip contains mapping of Wyoming public and private lands, hunt area boundaries, topo lines, roads, trails, and other pertinent information on lands and land status. Also popular is the camo field jackets that feature an embroidered image of an elk. Beck said gifts are available for kids, sportsmen, and women in all price ranges.
New products include WGFD Official Gear sweatshirts, hunting decals, jerky seasoning, camouflage gloves, archery sets, first aid kits for dogs, and other dog items.
Game and Fish products are featured on the agency’s web site wgfd.wyo.gov. Shoppers can also purchase gift certificates. Proceeds from the sale of products support hunter and angler access, habitat restoration and protection, and other wildlife programs.
