Q. Is steel shot required to hunt pheasants in walk-in areas?
A. Non-toxic shot is not required to hunt pheasants in walk-in areas. However, if you are hunting a walk-in area for both pheasants and waterfowl, you must use non-toxic shot. Be aware that it is illegal to have lead shot in your possession while hunting waterfowl. So if you are hunting both waterfowl and pheasants you will need to use non-toxic shot for everything.
