Q. Am I required to pack out the rib and neck meat from big game animals I harvest?
A. Many hunters utilize the rib and neck meat from their animals, but taking those portions is not required under Wyoming law. In Wyoming, edible portions are defined as all of the meat along the backbone between the neck and hindquarters including the loins and tenderloins and the meat from all of the quarters down to the knees and hocks. A complete definition of edible portions is found in the big game regulations for each species.
