A program designed to encourage anglers to learn more about Wyoming's cutthroat sub-species and develop more appreciation and support of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's cutthroat management program.
Instream flow refers to water flowing in streams. An instream flow water right refers to the legal means to protect water in streams for the benefit of fish based on the same laws used for other kinds of water rights.
The Wyoming Youth Fish Challenge Program aims to provide you with angling challenges that will expand your fishing skills! By identifying different Wyoming watersheds and fish species and determining the appropriate methods of catching a particular fish in a particular place you will hone your angling.
It is important for anglers to know how to identify the fish species they seek so they can comply with regulations and aid in the conservation of the valuable resource. This site is designed to help you identify Wyoming's most common game fish.
Think you caught a record fish? Check the list of record fish to see if your fish might be a contender. If so, submit your record with the Official Wyoming State Fish Record Application. Print and fill out the application and send it in.
Interested in fish species that are either native or not native, but can be found in Wyoming waters?
Most fish are tasty to eat and good for you -- high in protein and other nutrients and low in fat. But some kinds of fish contain high amounts of mercury, which can cause health problems in people, especially children. People should avoid eating too much of those types of fish.
