Your class is invited to join in the celebration of Wyoming’s outdoor heritage at the 15th annual Wyoming Hunting & Fishing Expo, September 13th - 15th, 2012 at the Casper Events Center in Casper, Wyoming. The event will be from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Thursday and Friday are dedicated to the Wyoming education community, and all three days of the Expo provide over 100 free hands-on exhibits, skill activities, and demonstrations, making the Expo a field trip you can’t afford to miss!

Expo ’12 has a number of unique learning opportunities for you and your students not provided at any other Wyoming event in one place at one time. From living history to outdoor skills, your students will be exposed to new and exciting information relating to the ethical use of our natural resource. At Expo, historical Native American and Mountain Man presenters, live animals, career information, artists, outdoor skills stations, and free admission to the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center. These and other surprises and activities await you at Expo ’12.

To see how the Expo fits your teaching needs, please visit our website and download last year’s Expo Teacher’s Guide, which ties all the exhibits, skill activities, and demonstrations at the Expo to Wyoming State Content and Performance Standards in Science, Math, Art, Physical Education, Health, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Careers/Vocational.

To help your school attend this year’s Expo, we have grant monies available to offset the cost of transportation. Enclosed you will find the registration and grant form to be completed and returned to our office by August 24, 2012.

Join the over 189,000 people who have participated in this one-of-a-kind learning experience over the past fourteen years. It is not necessary to pre-register; however, if you complete the enclosed information form by August 24, a teacher’s video detailing your educational experience at the Expo can be mailed to you and you. PTSB credit is available for teachers bringing students to the Expo.
