Featured Wildlife Viewing and Learning Facilities
These facilities were developed by the Department or cooperatively with agencies and communities. The regional designations in which these facilities occur correspond to those found in the Wyoming Wildlife Viewing Tour Guide. Many, but not all, of the facilities identified are found in the Viewing Tour Guide and Access to Wyoming's Wildlife publications - available for purchase by calling our Alternative Enterprises section at 1-800-LIV-WILD.
All facilities identified as Wyoming Watchable Wildlife viewing and learning sites are delineated with the "Wyoming's Wildlife -- Worth the Watching" logo. Roadside viewing areas and wildlife viewing tour routes are signed with a binocular sign and the logo. Most Viewing Tour Routes are signed only at the beginning or each end of the route, with the exception of those routes which have local companion publications and designated viewing sites.

Pine Bluffs Nature Area -- Located at the Pine Bluffs Rest Area and Information Center on I80. 1.8mile Nature Trail with trail guide, signs and habitat improvements. "Enjoy Wyoming Wildlands" sign. Casper Outdoor Classroom -- located at the Casper office of the Wyoming Game and Fish along the NorthPlatte River, south end of Casper on Hwy. 220. Includes an amphitheatre, interpretive signs and area for outdoorlearning activities. This site connects to the North Platte River Pathway system and is adjacent to an AudubonWildlife Sanctuary.

Lander Wildlife Education Center -- located at the Wyoming Game and Fish Regional officein Lander. Includes diorama exhibits on the wildlife communities in the Lander area, hands-on education andpublications. Fishing and hunting licenses available as well as information on local wildlife viewing and learningopportunities. Pre-arranged wildlife programs given to adult and youth groups. This center connects to the Popo AgiePathway. Open on weekdays, yearlong.

Story Fish Hatchery and Education Center - take exit to Story off of I-90, 12 miles north of Buffalo. Includes visitorcenter with exhibits, self-guided tour with interpretive signs and pre-arranged group tours. Open 7 days a week,8-5 Memorial Day - Labor Day.
Tensleep/Wigwam Fish Hatchery and Rearing Station - Tensleep Hatchery is located 8 miles east of Tensleep on Hwy. 16 andWigwam Rearing Station is 4 miles east of Tensleep on Hwy. 16. Both facilities have interpretive signs and providepre-arranged group tours on weekdays.
Tillett Springs Rearing Station - located 2.5 miles east of Lovell on Hwy. 14A, then 10 miles northwest on Hwy. 37, then4 miles on Crooked Creek Road. Pre-arranged group tours are provided on weekdays only.
Medicine Lodge Wildlife Habitat Management Area, State Archaeological Site, Visitor Center and Wildlife Walk - followroad signs NE from Hyatville about two miles. Managed cooperatively by the Wyoming State Parks Division and Wyoming Gameand Fish Departments. Facilities include an archaeological dig site, a visitor center, a walking path with interpretivesigns and wildlife habitat management area. The facilities are open to the public July 1 - November 30. Pre-arrangedtours can be scheduled for groups.
Yellowtail Wildlife Habitat Management Area and Wildlife Viewing Sites - exit at Hwy. 14, 2 miles east of Lovell toaccess the viewing site on the south side of the Shoshone River. This wetland viewing site has a viewing shelter andinterpretive signs.
Alkali Lake Viewing Site - located at Alkali Lake wetland on Hwy. 120 on the south side of Cody. Includes viewing pullout.
Greybull Natural Resource Learning Center - Greybull school project. Outdoor laboratory, shelter and interpretive signs.
Ocean Lake Wildlife Viewing Site - located about 25 miles west on Hwy. 134 at the north end of the Ocean Lake WildlifeHabitat Management Area. Includes viewing site, interpretive signs and boat ramp.

Clarks Fork Fish Hatchery - located about 29 miles north of Cody off of Hwy. 120. Includes pre-arranged group tourson weekdays only.
National Bighorn Sheep Interpretive Center - located on Hwy. 287 in downtown Dubois. Includes a world class wildlifeexhibit with outdoor nature area. Wildlife Information and local Wildlife Viewing Tour Guides can be acquired here.Entry fees are $2 per person, open daily 9am - 8pm, Labor day to Memorial day. Offer reservation only winter wildlifetours in the Dubois area.
Whiskey Mountain Wildlife Habitat Management Area Viewing Site- located 5 miles SE of Dubois off of Hwy. 287 and onthe Dubois - Whiskey Mountain Viewing Tour Route. Includes a Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Viewing Site withinterpretive signs, a 20x viewing scope and a viewing building. A tour guide publication can be acquired free of chargeat the Bighorn Sheep Center in Dubois.
Spence-Moriarity Wildlife Habitat Management Area Viewing Site - located on the East Fork road, north off of Hwy. 287,8 miles SE of Dubois. “In Lasting Memory†interpretive signs. Includes a viewing site. A tour guide publication canbe acquired free of charge at the Bighorn Sheep Center in Dubois.
Dubois Badlands Interpretive Trail - located 2 miles north of Dubois on the Horse Creek Road on BLM land. This wildlifewalk is about two miles long through the Badlands habitat with interpretive signs.
Buffalo Valley Winter Moose Viewing Site - located on Hwy. 287 about one mile west of the Blackrock Forest ServiceRanger Station. Roadside viewing area with interpretive signs.
National Elk Refuge Flat Creek Viewing Area - located at the north end of Jackson at Flat Creek bridge turnout on Hwy.189. Roadside elk, trumpeter swan and waterfowl viewing site with interpretive signs.
National Elk Refuge Visitor Center - located at the north end of Jackson on Hwy. 189. Includes wildlife exhibits;wildlife viewing, hunting and fishing information; and, wildlife trail and viewing site with interpretive signs.
Aspen Management Wildlife Trail - located on the SE corner of the National Elk Refuge. Includes trail and interpretivesigns.
Flat Creek Greenway Path and Nature Trail - located on Flat Creek in the south part of the town of Jackson. Includesdeveloped trail with interpretive signs.
Lower Slide Lake Wildlife Viewing Site - located on Gros Ventre Forest Service road overlooking Lower Slide Lake.Includes a wildlife interpretive kiosk.
