Woods Canyon Wildlife Habitat Management Area

Woods Canyon WHMA is located off of the Cache Creek drainage east of the town of Jackson.  The 640 acre area consists of a conifer shrub mix and provides excellent season range for elk and mule deer.  There is no vehicle access into the WHMA, but it can be accessed by foot via the Forest Service trail following along Cache Creek.  The one square mile piece of property is owned by Wyoming State Lands, but the Wyoming Game and Fish Department has an agreement to manage the land with the goal of ensuring the protection of valuable wildlife habitat.

Woods Canyon is closed from December 1st - April 30th each year.
